Before you travel: a calmer way to prepare

Questions to ask about transport, accommodation and support before a journey.

Every person, device and journey is different. A qualified provider can help with questions about individual needs and options.

Plan the handovers

The difficult part of travel is often the change between one part of the journey and another: home to station, airport to hotel, hotel to venue. Write those handovers down before booking.

For each one, note who is responsible, what time margin exists and what a comfortable alternative would be.

Ask providers early

Airlines, rail operators, hotels and venues each have their own processes. Ask about accessibility and equipment policies before relying on a plan, then retain written confirmation where possible.

Leave room for the day

A good route has pauses, familiar contacts and a backup option. The aim is not to optimise every minute; it is to make the experience more predictable and enjoyable.
